What to expect from eSUN PLA

PLA is the least fussy filament to buy: almost any brand prints well between 195–215°C. Budget spools run slightly cooler and can be brittle; premium "matte" and "tough" PLAs often like 5–10°C more. The biggest quality difference between cheap and premium PLA is diameter consistency, which shows up as wall-thickness variation more than as a temperature change.

🔎 PLA’s real weakness is heat, not strength — a PLA part left in a hot car or sunny window will sag around 55–60°C. If a part needs to survive heat, that’s the signal to move to PETG or ABS rather than just printing PLA hotter.

FAQ

What temperature should I print eSUN PLA at?
Start around 205°C hotend and 60°C bed, then run a temperature tower across 190–220°C. eSUN PLA+ likes 210–225°C — a little hotter than basic PLA. eSUN PETG runs well around 240–245°C.
Is eSUN PLA good quality?
Strong price-to-quality, widely stocked. PLA+ is the flagship and a good default tough PLA. As always, dry the spool if you see stringing or popping and calibrate flow before judging a brand.
Do I need to dry eSUN PLA?
Usually not, but if a spool has sat in humid air and strings badly, a few hours of drying helps.
