Wood PLA settings for the Creality K1
Great match
These are tuned starting settings for printing Wood PLA on the Creality K1. The Creality K1 has a direct-drive extruder and an all-metal hotend in an enclosed chamber, so we set the hotend to 200°C and the bed to 55°C. Wood PLA contains real wood fibres, so a 0.5 mm or hardened nozzle reduces clogging.

FAQ
- What temperature should I print Wood PLA on the Creality K1?
- Start at 200°C for the hotend and 55°C for the bed, then run a temperature tower across 190–210°C to dial in your exact filament brand.
- What print speed works for Wood PLA on this printer?
- Around 63 mm/s is a safe starting point on the Creality K1. This printer can go faster once the profile is tuned, but start conservative for clean walls.
- What retraction should I use?
- Use about 0.8 mm of retraction (direct drive needs very little). If you see stringing with Wood PLA, raise retraction speed before distance and dry the filament.
- Do I need an enclosure for Wood PLA on the Creality K1?
- No, Wood PLA prints fine in the open on the Creality K1.
