PETG not sticking to the bed
Symptom: The first layer lifts, curls or follows the nozzle.
Most likely causes
- Wrong Z offset
- Contaminated plate
- First layer too fast
- Bed below the filament maker’s range
Test in this order
- Wash the plate with dish soap and water; avoid touching the print area.
- Recheck Z offset with a wide single-layer test.
- Slow the first layer to 15–25 mm/s.
- Raise bed temperature in 5°C steps without exceeding the plate or printer limit.
Stop changing multiple settings at once. Save the model, filament condition and room conditions, then change one variable and compare.
