Nylon (PA) settings for the Sovol SV06
Possible with tweaks
These are tuned starting settings for printing Nylon (PA) on the Sovol SV06. The Sovol SV06 has a direct-drive extruder and an all-metal hotend, so we set the hotend to 260°C and the bed to 90°C. Nylon is extremely strong but soaks up moisture fast, so dry the spool before every print.

Recommended Nylon (PA) profile
| Hotend temperature | 260°C (tower 240–280°C) |
| Bed temperature | 90°C |
| Print speed | 40 mm/s |
| Retraction | 1.5 mm (direct drive) |
| Part cooling fan | 0% |
| Bed adhesion | Glue stick or PA-specific sheet; dry before printing. |
| Nozzle | Brass 0.4 mm is fine |
| Difficulty | Advanced |
⚠️ Nylon (PA) warps without an enclosure and the Sovol SV06 is open-frame. Block drafts, raise the bed temp, and add a brim; for tall parts an enclosure is strongly recommended.
💡 Best uses for Nylon (PA): gears, living hinges, tough parts.
FAQ
- What temperature should I print Nylon (PA) on the Sovol SV06?
- Start at 260°C for the hotend and 90°C for the bed, then run a temperature tower across 240–270°C to dial in your exact filament brand.
- What print speed works for Nylon (PA) on this printer?
- Around 40 mm/s is a safe starting point on the Sovol SV06.
- What retraction should I use?
- Use about 1.5 mm of retraction (direct drive needs very little). If you see stringing with Nylon (PA), raise retraction speed before distance and dry the filament.
- Do I need an enclosure for Nylon (PA) on the Sovol SV06?
- Yes — Nylon (PA) really wants an enclosure and the Sovol SV06 is open, so expect warping on large parts without one.
